Summer has officially begun

Summer has officially begun for us on Sunday evening - we watered the garden.

Actually, my husband started watering the flower and vegetable beds a couple of days ago. But I didn't take it seriously: it often rained and was cool at night.

But now… My eyes itch from pollen, allergy pills are a necessary breakfast supplement. And… watering the gardens.

But I don’t complain, don’t I?

My Tomsk friend Marina put on a coat when she and her husband went to watch the half marathon* in Tomsk.

Forecasters predict frosts from 32° to 26°F in the north of the Tomsk region on June 4 and 5. And in general, in the first half of June, the air temperature will be 2-4°  below normal.

Meanwhile, forests are burning in Buryatia**.

Since May 26, a ban on visiting forests has been introduced in the republic. Nevertheless, the Buryat Republican agency reports that more than 440 people are extinguishing forest fires in an area of over 34 hectares. It is believed that the cause of the occurrence was a dry thunderstorm and careless handling of fire.

Two days ago, a train passed through a forest engulfed in fire. The train drivers were able to make a video. The link is here The link is here, I hope you can open it.

The same news release showed flooded roads in Buryatia. But I can't find a printed confirmation.

Going back to the summer subject.. In Russia officially school vacation has begun. Elementary  and middle school students have a rest for 3 summer months.

Children are the ones who really enjoy the summer. But children are different, aren't they? One day I will tell you about my childhood.

*Children's Day is celebrated in Russia on June 1. As part of the celebration, on Sunday, Tomsk held a half marathon in the city (distances of 21.1, 10 and 5 km), which was attended by about a thousand people.

**The Republic is located in the center of Asia, in the south of Eastern Siberia, the southern border of Buryatia with Mongolia is the state border of the Russian Federation.
