The Secret

Did I tell you how I learned the “Secret”?

It was a few years before I moved to the US.

I worked at a store in the shopping center. One day a friend of mine stopped by to see me.

After he found out where I worked he visited me no more than 2 times a year, just to talk. Who knows why. We’ve known each other for almost forever, lol, we went to the same school for 10 years. He is a year older. We were not close friends but it was interesting to see  who we became 20 years after graduating.

One day  Emil came in (to the store). He was happy and maybe even excited: he bought a dvd called “Secret” in a small dvd department in my mall.

Honestly, now I don’t remember what he said about the disc. I don’t remember if he recommended this movie to me. But for some reason, I became very curious, and decided that I also wanted to watch this movie. The fact that a successful person ( Emil owns a small business, rents out a few apartments, which allows him to travel  3-4 times a year) believed that the film’s content was important for viewing.

So, as soon as he left, I went to the same dvd department, and luckily they had a second copy of this “secret” movie! I bought it.

And then it was a process of assimilation of the content of the film.

If you've read the book or watched the movie, you can stop reading right here.

Otherwise,

The theory from the book/movie is this: we attract what we think of, thoughts create things, successful people talk about success, we should appreciate what we have and what we want to have.

I really liked the idea. But how difficult it was then to find something positive in my own life. It was very challenging to change my way of thinking.

However, the theory also had a cool part. For example, I didn't have to think about how I get things I dream about. I just needed to send a “request” to the Universe.

The important part of the theory was to be open to new opportunities. And don’t miss them. At least try not to miss them.

I don't want to sound crazy. But I think I believe in the Universe and in the Law of Attraction.

We just need to wish correctly. Our wishes should be as detailed as possible. And we have to be as focused as possible when we wish.

But the best way to learn about it is to read the book*. The Secret by Rhonda Byrne.

Why am I suddenly remembering this now?

I met someone who (in my opinion) needs to change the way of thinking.

However, I don’t know how to approach this person and give a recommendation.

I don't like receiving unwanted advice, so why should I give it to others?

Last December or January (sorry, don't remember) we conducted a program in the library - we created a vision board. I call it the picture of my dreams. The person I was thinking of right now was there. I mentioned the book behind the project, she started her board, I guess, never finished.

Maybe it's not time for her to have a “secret” yet. Maybe I need to mention the book again.

We will see…

P.S. I left the dvd with my sister. She never found the time to watch it, I doubt she still has that movie. I think her time will never come. sadly.

 *It’s available in the library.
