My friend sent me a short video from Tomsk streets. Lovely, sunny, with blue sky.
What else is new in Tomsk and Russia.
People live their lives almost as usual, as nothing bad happening.
Usually on the last Saturday of June, Tomsk (and Russia) celebrates Youth Day*.
This year in Tomsk, this did not happen because of the riot of Yevgeny Prigozhin.
However, life goes on, The armed uprising ended before it even started.
Monday, July 3, Specialists of Tomskvodokanal turned off cold water for a day in more than 600 houses of the “Science” and “Akademgorodok” city districts in connection with repair work.
Tuesday, July 4 I saw in the “Tomsk 1604” telegram channel that after the repair and turning on the water, there was a breakthrough in the pipe and a fountain formed.
There are many beautiful fountains in Tomsk, but sometimes there are spontaneous ones.
Sorry, I cannot attach the video of it here.
Russian media "Газета.ru " says, this year, many Russians have refused to travel abroad on vacation in favor of local resorts. Earlier it was reported that this year Russians prefer domestic resorts in the south. At the same time, sales of tours to the previously popular Turkey decreased by more than 40 percent due to the high cost.
I am not surprised. The dollar exchange rate against the ruble exceeded the 90 mark, for the first time since March 28, following from the Moscow Exchange trading data, said media finam.ru on Tuesday (July 4th).
July 3. The traffic jam at the entrance to the Crimean bridge has increased to 8 km. The waiting time is up to 5 hours. As explained in the Ministry of Transport, the formation of queues is associated with an increase in the number of vehicles and baggage that is subject to inspection.
Apparently, citizens want to go on vacation so much that they don't worry about the proximity of hostilities.
Another news that sounds really interesting to me is that Russians have started to sell their dachas** in Finland. This is happening because the Finnish officials have tightened the rules for the entry of Russian property owners, Yle TV and radio company reports.
The house in Finland is a dream of my dream! I know there is no such expression, but this is how much I wish for it.
*The date of the holiday was changed by Boris Yeltsin to June 27. But in some cities the main celebrations are held "the old-fashioned way" on the last Saturday/Sunday of June, since June 27 is often, depending on the year, a working day and does not fall on a day off. On this day, festive events, concerts, quizzes, sports, discos, contests and folk festivals are held throughout Russia.
** Dacha is a seasonal or year-round second home, often located in the exurbs of post-Soviet countries, including Russia.
